Antonio Conte Reserves Special Praise for Cesc Fabregas

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has praised midfielder Cesc Fabregas’ form over the last few games.


The impressive performances put in by the Spaniard resulted in Antonio Conte retaining him in the starting line-up for the game against Swansea during the weekend. It was seen as one of the key encounters for Chelsea in their efforts to win the league title this season.

Antonio Conte Praises Cesc Fabregas and John Terry after Wolves Win

Chelsea captain John Terry returned to the starting lineup for only the second time in 2017 after featuring in the game against Wolverhampton during the weekend.


John Terry was not the only player to make a return to the starting line-up, as manager Antonio Conte also recalled that Cesc Fabregas for this FA Cup game. The Spanish midfielder is no longer a first choice player under the Italian manager. However, it has not prevented Fabregas from making a major impact whenever he has played. Against Wolves, two second-half goals from Pedro and Diego Costahelped Chelsea progress into the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

CescFabregas wants to play football and to prove Conte wrong

The Spanish international CescFabregas recently said that spending time on the bench is something that he does not wishes to do at a consistent basis but it’s what he has had to do under the guidance of Antonio Conte.


"I play football to win and enjoy. When I don't play I'm sad and I don't enjoy it, but I'm happy the team is doing well. Football is my life, it’s everything to me. Every time I’m on the pitch I try to do my best. In this game it went well again so I just need to keep going and show the manager I deserve to play." Chelsea’s CescFabregas said.

Antonio Conte has not preferred using Cesc Fabregas in the Chelsea midfield and the Spaniard also finds it extremely hard to get into a team that has been doing so well of late.


Fabregas has not been one of the starting players right from the beginning of the campaign. Conte has preferred using Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante in the centre of the midfield. Despite Fabregas being one of the standout players since his move from Barcelona in 2014, he has been unable to get into this Chelsea team. Defeats against the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal seemed to provide a glimmer of hope for the 29-year-old.

CescFabregas has revealed that Conte is counting on him

Fabregas has gone from being a consistent starter in all of previous club including: Arsenal and Barcelona. In all of those teams, Fabregas helped them in securing a number of different pieces of silverware.


Chelsea is the current club of CescFabregas and the Spanish midfielder has aided the Premier League outfit in winning their domestic title as well as the Football League Cup. The 2 initial seasons of Fabregas in Stamford Bridge were fairly memorable for him as he made 33 league appearances and provided 7 assists while scoring 4 goals in his 2nd season as a Chelsea player.
