Cesc Fabregas doesn’t think that the outcome of the upcoming La Liga match between his team Barcelona and Atletico Madrid is going to be very important in terms of title race, but, he did say that the team winning the match would surely get the momentum in its favour.

Barcelona and Atletico are at the first and the second position respectively in the La Liga points table at the moment. They are being separated only by goal difference as both have the same no. of points in the bag and that shows how close the competition is between these two sides.

The fans of both the clubs have been waiting for this game since a long time and each and every seat at Vicente Calderon is expected to be full on the match day. People reckon that the team which would have the result of this game in its favour would become the favourite to win the title.

But, Fabregas’ opinion is a bit different. He agrees that the match is vital, but, only from momentum point of view.
Talking to the reporters yesterday, the midfielder said, “It has been hyped as the league deciding match, but, I don’t believe in that. Yes, whoever wins it would get a whole lot of confidence.”

Barcelona has been considered as favourites to win this game because of the return of their superstar Lionel Messi who would perhaps be starting for the first time in a while, but, Fabregas didn’t agree to that either.
The Spanish international said, “Neither team is the favourite. Some of Atletico’s players including Diego Costa have been in brilliant form. Their biggest strength is their coordination.”

Both Barca and Atletico have been defeated once in the ongoing La Liga.
