Cesc Fabregas says Eden Hazard is perfectly suited for Real Madrid
AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said that Eden Hazard is perfectly suited for Real Madrid due to his free-flowing style of play. The Belgium international made the switch to Los Blancos from Chelsea in a £89m deal this summer and he has already made his bow during a friendly defeat against Bayern Munich.
Speaking to AS, Fabregas hailed the qualities of his former Chelsea teammate and said that he would fit perfectly to the plans of Real Madrid when compared to Barcelona, he quipped: “Hazard is a great player who makes the difference. He is the kind of player that was made to play at Real Madrid because he needs a lot of space to run in to, to have the ball and drive, he likes to move around the field and you can’t tell him to ‘stay there’. At Barcelona, for example, it’s a team more about positioning, for everyone to be in their place to circulate the ball. And he likes to go to the ball to have freedom and he can give Real Madrid much more than he could give to Barcelona.”
Hazard could not make much of a difference during the opening pre-season game against Bayern, where Los Blancos succumbed to a 3-1 loss. Nonetheless, his talents cannot be judged by the single friendly game and he should gather momentum in terms of the performances as the Madrid giants edge closer to the new campaign.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos have been ultra-active with the purchase of five players for more than £250m and their spending spree could continue before next month’s transfer deadline. Manchester United’s Paul Pogba has been associated with a £170m switch to the Bernabeu, but the club would depend on the potential sale of outcasts this summer. James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, Lucas Vazquez, Marcelo and Mariano Diaz are some of the top players, who could head towards the exit door.
